they are outraged over the deadly shooting of 13-year-old andy lopez. it happened one week ago right here in this spot where we're standing this morning where a large memorial has now been set up here by friends, neighbors and family members. this is where a sonoma county sheriff's deputy opened fire on the teenager who was holding a replica ak-47 that turned out to be a bb gun. today's protest will start at about noon. the people will meet at two locations at the old courthouse square and at santa rosa junior college and then those two groups will converge on the sheriff's department offices on ventura avenue. in response to this large demonstration county offices, city hall and the courthouse will all be closing at lunchtime. lopez was shot seven times by that sheriff's deputy. the department says the teenager was holding an air soft gun that resembled an assault rifle and failed to put the weapon down. yesterday the sheriff's department did release the identity of the deputy who was involved. 48-year-old erick gelhaus is a 24-year veteran of the depa
